The Campaign for Real Ale is the most successful consumer organisation in the UK and is credited with reviving interest in real ales and traditional pubs.  It also publishes the Good Beer Guide, the beer-lover's bible.
The Good Pub Guide The original independent guide, The Good Pub Guide remains the essential companion for anyone who wants to experience the finest in British pubs, offering lively comment on beer, wine, food and atmosphere.
In 1994, Alastair Sawday moved into publishing guides. This was a direct result of personal frustration at the robotic nature of the guides then on the market. Sawday's books feature write-ups that are vivid and honest, colour photographs and maps, clear directions, and easy-to-use symbols.
The famous AA Restaurant & Pub Guide says of The Bhurtpore Inn: "freshly prepared food, together with an exceptional range of Highland malts and real ales from small independent craft brewers. Five imported draught beers are supported by over 150 bottled beers, including one of the largest ranges of Belgian ales in Britain. Expect no less from the award-winning food."

There are so many British breweries that it would be impossible to include all of them on this list.  However, we are supportive of any brewery that is committed to real ale.

If you want to learn more about British breweries, please refer to the breweries section of the Good Beer Guide, the CAMRA website or the website of SIBA.
